Imprinting Tips For Compoz'z CombozzTM

Puzzle Clonzz®
and Sub-StraightzzTM

For Imprinting
Compoz'z CombozzTM
. . .
Compoz'z CombozzTM
are never printed. The brand is defined by one
Puzzle Clonzz®
(PC)
and one
Sub-StraightzzTM
(SS)
jigsaw puzzle. These are the puzzles which may be imprinted. It is the art of melding these two
jigsaw
puzzles together that defines the nature of the
Compoz'z CombozzTM
(CC) brand of product!
For Imprinting
Puzzle Clonzz®
. . .
(1) Every THIN computer printable jigsaw
Puzzle Clonzz®
MUST be imprinted from a DEFAULT FEED, MANUAL
FEED or STRAIGHT PATH.
(2) PLACE only ONE puzzle,
at a time, into your printer.
(3) Make sure
you are feeding the jigsaw puzzle from its 8.5" edge . . . this edge
will become your gripper. Please note that the feed instructions change for the
imprinting of
Sub-StraightzzTM
compatible Puzzle Clonzz®, whereby the feed end of the puzzle is the 6.5" edge
(the edge that has one hole in the frame) . . .
and the trailing end has two holes.
(4) Ink settings should be the same as if printing on transparencies, high gloss
and/or non-porous substances, although variances will prevail depending upon
text vs. image size and/or pixel resolution.
(5) Give instructions to your printer to print
only ONE puzzle, at a time, using a paper format set at 8.5” x
11”.
(6) Margin settings for imprinting puzzles are best set on an individual basis,
through trial and error . . . by using a normal piece of .8.5" x 11" paper to
establish and identify positional accuracy. We recommend . . .
Initial margin settings, on our "B"-size
Sub-StraightzzTM
. . . for PORTRAIT, should be . . . Top at .7"; Bottom at 3.2; Left at .7" and Right at 2.6".
Initial margin settings, on our "B"-size
Sub-StraightzzTM
. . . for LANDSCAPE, should be . . . Top at 2.6"; Bottom at .7; Left at .7" and Right at
3.2".
Adjustments to margins can most easily be made, from that point, to accommodate
and finalize desired settings.
(7) Empty your delivery tray, after every puzzle is printed, to avoid
smudging or getting
"hung-up" on any "popped interlock". In fact, we prefer to
lean the puzzles against an upright barrier (a wall or bookend will do just
fine), rather than pile them up . . . to avoid unnecessary pressure during the
drying process, as well as possible scratching of the applied ink.
(8) For optimum results, DO NOT run puzzle through printer more
than ONCE, although the puzzle will not fall apart during the imprinting
process.
(9) If, by chance, your puzzle creates a "paper jam", be sure to
SHUT OFF THE POWER TO YOUR PRINTER prior to rectifying the situation.
For Imprinting
Sub-StraightzzTM
. . .
(1) Every THICK computer printable jigsaw
Sub-StraightzzTM
can only be imprinted from a STRAIGHT THROUGH PATH, of specialized
heavy substrate printers, accepting thick media. Our
Sub-StraightzzTM
brand calipers at .030", approximately the height of three business cards piled
high.
(2) Manually place
one puzzle,
at a time, directly into the designated section of your printer that accepts
these thick media substrates. . . with the single frame hole edge leading the way . .
. thereby becoming your gripper.
(3) Give instructions to your printer to print
only ONE puzzle, at a time, using a paper format set at 8.5” x
11”.
(4) Ink settings should be the same as if printing on bright white ink jet
compatible paper.

Melding Tips For Compoz'z CombozzTM 2
Components
Puzzle Clonzz®
plus Sub-StraightzzTM
For
Melding Compoz'z CombozzTM
. . .
(1) Print one
Puzzle Clonzz®
to your specifications and wait for it to completely air-dry.
(2) Every pack of Compoz'z CombozzTM
contains 3 metal registration/melding pins, measuring .25" in diameter.
(3) PLACE one pin through the bottom
of one unprinted
Sub-StraightzzTM
jigsaw puzzle . . . one pin through each of the three holes.
(4) Brush your adhesive or rub your glue stick over
the entire surface of the
Sub-StraightzzTM
jigsaw puzzle. If you choose to use a spray adhesive, make sure you cover all
the furniture in the room with tarps, and don't forget to wear a mask, even if
it isn't Halloween . . . and if you want a second opinion, you're ugly, too! As
aromatic as the spray can be, inhale too many of those vapors will have a
tendency to make you forget you're working on a jigsaw puzzle,
(5) Place the imprinted
Puzzle Clonzz®
directly onto the pins (this will superimpose the PC, on the SS, in the exact
position necessary to meld both puzzles together in perfect alignment.
(6) Apply pressure to the surface of the melded puzzles. We believe you can best
accomplish this by: (a) placing a blank sheet of paper over the puzzles and
between the pins, so you don't smudge your imprinted piece (disregard . . . we
really mean pieces) as you proceed to (b) smoothen out the glue as you flatten
out the finished product.
(7) You can take out the three pins, at this point, but do not attempt to break
the puzzle apart until the glue has completely set and dry. If you are not
attempting to meld another puzzle, leave the pins where they are, until you're
ready to disassemble the jigsaw.
(8) Finally, the disassembly . . . once dry, we suggest that the first, of the
final steps, is to strip off the frame and throw it away . . . the frame no
longer serves any purpose, once the puzzles are melded, but keep the three
melding pins for the next job.
(9) Before you start tearing the pieces out of the puzzle, you should push all
the interlocks, one at a time, down and through, to the back of the puzzle . . .
just enough to see that the interlock is flexibly disengaged from it's adjacent
position. Perform this function upon all pieces of the puzzle, on vertical and
horizontal interlocks.
(10) O.K., O.K. . . . You can breathe now . . . Strip off one entire row of
pieces, at a time, preferably along the shortest length of rule.
(11) Lastly, break every piece off of every row, on an individual piece
basis, until all the pieces are disengaged.
(12) If you're disturbed by the existence of fuzzy edges we would consider you
to be anal retentive, however, you can take a nail file to improve the
appearance of every component piece of the jigsaw puzzle . . . but our
recommendation is to not worry 'bout the small stuff . . . your friends will
definitely find something to complain about anyway.
(13) You're done . . . Completed . . . F - I - N - I - S - H - E - D - ! We're
proud of you . . . and its time to rest . . . so, in view of the fact that we
hate to end our instructions and adv ice, on such an unlucky number, we've added
one more tidbit that may or may not be taken . . .
(14) Take two aspirin and go to bed!
